As principais actividades desta aldeia são agrícolas e distribuem-se pelo cultivo da vinha, milho, batatas e cereais.
A toponímia desta freguesia e a arqueologia das imediações, mostram que o povoamento do território desta freguesia é bastante anterior ao Séc. XII, as primeiras referências que se conhecem desta freguesia datam de 950 e 991. A palavra Verdoejo deriva do termo "verde", mais propriamente de "verde-vejo"
